Restrictions in Gastein railway transport 2025
Due to the renovation of the railway stations in the valley and the Tauern tunnel, there will be changes to the train connections from November 2024 and March 2025. Details here.
Mobility on site
First things first: From the Ribisel you can reach many places on foot and we have a bus stop right in front of the house (details on location).

Reasons for travelling by train
- The Austrian railway has a punctuality rate of 95% in passenger transport.
- There are separate children's and bicycle compartments on the Railjet (details).
- With a Sparschiene ticket, up to 4 children up to the age of 14 travel free of charge (details).
- Direct trains to Gastein from Germany (e.g. Frankfurt and Munich).
Transfer from the railway station
If you let us know your arrival time, we will try to pick you up personally from the railway station. If it is not possible, there is always the 558 bus which runs directly from the railway station to Ribisel.
Free public transport throughout the province of Salzburg
From summer 2025, public transport throughout the province of Salzburg will be free for guests! Mobility on site will therefore be even easier and a trip to the city of Salzburg can also be planned in case of bad weather!
